Taylor

Taylor Swift has become a uncommon pop sensation: A superstar who crossed over completely from traditional music into pop culture, becoming the pop icon of the future that will last forever and conquering all of the world. Swift has thrown off her roots in the country as if they were second skins, showing herself to be one of the best pop singers and songwriters of her time. She has the ability to harness the current zeitgeist and create her own. This was evident from her first songs, especially in her neo homage of Tim McGraw. On her album Fearless (2008), Swift revealed a singer/songwriter who was beginning to get acquainted with her. Fearless was an enormous success not just in America where its Top Ten singles Love Story, and You Belong with Me helped it to achieve six platinum records but also around the world. It performed particularly well in Canada, Australia as well as the U.K. Swift's next album, Speak Now, released nearly two years following the debut, further consolidated this success. It helped propel Swift to superstardom. The popularity of Swift only grew through her subsequent three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 which saw her move into a pop realm where she already belonged. Her name was always on top of the charts even when she dropped her style with her sibling albums, folklore and Evermore in 2020.
